Kathleen Rugh is a photographer and filmmaker based in Brooklyn, NY. Her artwork centers around the psychological effects of the spaces we inhabit. Through repetitive and careful observations she uses the film and photographic medium to gain a deeper awareness of the places that easily get overlooked in our daily routine.
Kathleen Rugh received an MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston/Tufts University and a BFA from the University of Colorado at Denver. She has had her film and photographic work exhibited in galleries and screenings internationally and throughout the US. She has taught photography and film classes at Emerson College, Ithaca College, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, PhotoManhattan and the Denver Darkroom.
