The brain is a dynamic structure which must be properly nourished to work at its best. Is your brain working at its best?
This class will incorporate the physical (diet, exercise, sleep) and the mental (emotional well-being) components of learning. The shocking truth is that by applying a few simple neurological truths, both students and professionals alike can:
- Reduce "ADD" tendencies like youtube watching/facebook checking
- Dramatically improve productivity
- Enhance mood and overall well being
What this course will cover:
- Exactly what to eat before your next big test or important business meeting
- How to apply what brain scientists know to your daily life to improve your productivity, decrease your distractability and get more from life
- The 4 simple and powerful truths which are most important for improving your brain
In the first 20 to 30 minutes, I will introduce you to the principles, stories and methods for a maximally functioning brain including how and why specific foods, diets and exercise routines improve your brain. In this portion, I will distill the most important information from millions of years of scientific and self-experimentation data to show you what works. I have spent thousands of hours searching the scientific literature, working with students and experimenting to discover much of what I've learned, most of which is shockingily effective.
Next, I will open it up for Q and A. This is where you'll get a chance to get answers to specific questions you have. Come prepared with good questions. If I don't immediately know the answer, I'll find it.
This course is meant as an introduction to the principles of neuroscience which will help you get more from your brain. You will leave this class with highly specific and actionable takeaways. Beginners are welcome. I will make sure this talk is accesible to everyone.
What to bring - Be sure to bring a pen, pencil or other note-taking device + paper and wear comfortable/moveable clothing. I will be sharing every bit of good information that I can squeeze into 30 minutes.
