Why settle for charcoal or graphite when you can draw with a free, awesome and endless resource...the sun? In this class, students will learn how to manipulate solar light with a magnifying glass. By using angle to focus light to greater or lesser degrees, we will learn how to create a variety of controlled strokes that allow you to draw with fire. Bring your own magnifying glass (even a $1 mini will do) and some unfinished pieces of wood to draw on (smooth surfaces work best). We'll meet at the corner of St James Pl and Greene Ave in Brooklyn, and drive to Fort Tilden Beach. If another student volunteers to drive to the location, we can expand the class size.

Lily is a dancer and maker of things. She has learned that artists need not be defined by their medium - which is how she came to be well versed in drawing with fire, painting with wax, sculpting with brown bags and many other things. She has toured the city and the country as a dancer, photographer...
