We've all heard the horror stories of people getting in trouble, both professionally and personally, because of their questionable social media posts. Whether you are looking for a new job or just want to learn how to better manage your online identity, this class will teach you how to become a responsible digital citizen.

Everyone's heard the horror stories of employees getting fired and students losing college admissions over questionable posts on Facebook and Twitter. These mistakes are all too common as social media use continues to increase, but they can be avoided. 

In this class students, will be introduced to the popular social media networks and learn how to utilize these platforms for personal and professional use.

Note: We will be having a workshop session during class, so a laptop with internet connectivity is recommended, but not required.

  • How to optimize their Facebook profile and Twitter feeds
  • Best practices when posting content online
  • How to effectively use Facebook's privacy settings
After this class, students will:
  • Have an updated and optimized Facebook profile and Twitter feed
  • Know how to use social media privacy settings to protect their posts
  • Know what to post and not to post on their social media profiles
  • Be a more responsible digital citizen
