What You’ll Do
Project: Turn your product idea into manufactured good.
What You’ll Learn

What will you learn in this class?

You’ll finish knowing how to design, source, and manufacture your product in a step-by-step process. You’ll learn basic manufacturing “speak”, prepare for “sticky spots” like vetting factories and ensuring quality control, and hear from a range of guest experts in this field. You'll also have access to Vendor and Supplier referrals from myself and my team. You’ll walk away with your very own Production Plan that you can use to take your idea from concept to finished product.

Award

I'll choose the best project submitted for a 60 minute 1-on-1 consultation session with me to receive specialized guidance about your production plans.

For anyone with confidential or sensitive product ideas, please note that this class will not require you to divulge more information than you’re comfortable with. What you share is up to you!

Beginner Level

This class is for anyone looking to launch a new product, or ramp up small-scale production to introduce their product to a larger audience.

About Your Teacher
Liz Long · BagtheHabit.com | LizLong.co

I am a Co-Founder at Bag the Habit, a company that designs and produces a line of reusable shopping solutions, and the author of a blog dedicated to sourcing and manufacturing guidance. For the past 6 years I have been exploring the world of entrepreneurship and production, both through my own company, and with hundreds of designers and start-ups working on their own product lines.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that manufacturing is rarely easy! But as someone who started with zero experience (and has made every mistake in the book), I wholeheartedly believe that having the right information – even more than financial resources and connections – is the most important key to turning your ideas into real, manufactured products. This class is about alleviating the learning curve for new entrepreneurs and designers, and creating an interactive dialogue filled with straightforward advice and real-time guidance. It's the resource I wish I'd had!
