What You’ll Learn

This is a fun and high-energy workshop perfect for anyone who:

  • Feels stuck on an issue and out of ideas about what to do about it
Ex: "How do we increase our numbers without burning-out our team?" "Why can't I change that bad habit of mine?" "Why doesn't my boss understand what I need?"

  • Wants to improve their systems-thinking, design-thinking, and innovation skills
Ex: Build your creative capital and resume, impress your boss with better problem-solving skills, improve meeting and work culture and productivity

  • Craves better ways to contribute to work brainstorm sessions
Ex: "I'm a 'quiet' thinker -- how can I still contribute during loud group brainstorms?" "The same people always talk at meetings -- how do we get everyone involved?"

Some examples of how past students have used these techniques:  increased worker productivity without increasing staff stress, developed a more user-friendly manual for medical patients, turned boring meetings into high-energy work sessions, and identified and resolved the underlying issue creating conflict between two employees.

The workshop is fast-paced, interactive and structured to allow for balanced participation between introverts, extroverts, verbal thinkers and visual thinkers.  In 90 minutes we'll practice:

  • Six ground rules that increase our ability to innovate and find new ideas to old problems
  • Two specific techniques that apply best-practice models towards uncovering what's the true underlying cause of an issue or problem (Visual Root Cause Analysis and Competing Priorities Exercise)
  • One refining tool that can help us narrow down the right solution (Impact Grid)

Attendees will walk away with methods they can try out immediately after the workshop and the option to receive feedback on how to creatively problem-solve their own particular problem.

Perfect for: Managers, entrepreneurs, team leads, CEOs, facilitators, trainers, artists, quality improvement specialists, goal-setting folks, life coaches and individuals tired of boring problem-solving. No previous experience necessary.
