Britannia Pewter is a lead-free, low-melting tin alloy that can be used to make a great number of decorative and useful objects from cutlery to toy soldiers. In this hands-on metal casting course students will start off by sculpting a small object around 4”x4”. In the second session of the course students will create a one part, heat-resistant silicone mold, a negative that will be used to cast their object into Pewter. In our last session students will get to cast their own objects into Pewter. We will learn how to handle and pour the metal safely, turning your sculpture into a durable and beautiful metal object that you can take home.
