This experiential workshop is an interactive overview of CORE 4. Core 4 draws from the best of applied psychology, as well as over 30 years of practical application with social entrepreneurs, designers, artists, and other lifelong learners. The class will distill the essence of what is taught over a college semester at New York University. Students will leave with usable skills, understanding, and compelling experiences that will increase their ability to connect, set boundaries, have successful emotional conversions, and use new strategist tools.
Participants will also be invited to join a growing collaborative community of enterprising young professionals that began in NYU’s Program for Social Innovation.
This introductory course will be followed by other course offerings that go into greater depth and advance learner’s mastery of Core 4 success skills.
This class is a good fit for learners interested in increasing their levels of professional success and personal fulfillment. The course is especially helpful if you are engaged in an ongoing relationship, complex working environment, and/or challenging creative project where you want to improve your effectiveness.
Dr. Wexler is a teacher, clinical psychologist, and researcher. Currently, Dr. Wexler is teaching at the NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Policy. He lectures internationally and practices psychology in New York City. From a collaborative relationship of 25 years with Dr. Ellen McGrath, he helped develop “Core 4”, a highly effective and innovative approach to training success skills that brings together the best of psychology and management practices to help entrepreneurs and others actualize their potential. The Core 4 approach is being taught at NYU and other universities across the country and internationally and it serves as a basis for a startup incubator and executive coaching program.
Dr. Wexler has also been involved in building a community of innovators who have found Core 4 skills especially useful at work and in relationships. Steven Rasovsky, a senior TA for social entrepreneurship courses at NYU, recent graduate, and member of the Core 4 community, will assist Dr. Wexler in the course by contributing his infectious enthusiasm and on-the-ground experience using these success skills.
