This is a 3 hour crash course in the art of Black & White printing. You bring b&w negatives and b&w paper and we spend 3 hours in the darkroom teaching you to print! The Bushwick Community Darkroom is a fully stocked single occupancy darkroom available for rent by the hour. This course will give you all the skills you need to make awesome b&w prints from your negatives all by yourself! I provide all the chemicals and expertise and you come and learn! It's fun, casual, exciting and educational!
Lucia Rollow has been working in the darkroom since she was 12 years old and knows the ins and outs like the back of her hand. She earned her BFA in photography at the School of Visual Arts in 2009, and spent a semester at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris in 2008. She has been teaching folks to print at the Bushwick Community Darkroom for 1 year now and it has been a wonderfully rewarding and succesful experience. She has developed a technique for making b&w printing accessible to everyone and would love to share it with you too! You will leave this class knowing how to print.
