Alexis Finch reteaching this Sketchnotes class for the third time due to popular demand! This class is meant for beginners, so no background in art, design, among others, is needed. Just bring your passion for creation.

Sketchnotes are a visual form of note-taking that can include drawings, various lettering sizes and styles, color, icons, arrows, boxes and more — whatever works for you. And the best part is that you don’t have to be a creative genius to do it. It’s called Sketchnoting, not Art School!

We'll start out with a quick lecture to introduce you to the form, then some exercises to give you the tools you need, then switch to full on workshop mode so you'll walk out the door with a couple sketchnotes under your belt. We'll be listening to RadioLab WNYC, and 99% Invisible KALW as our source material.

What will you get?
  • Create a repertoire of characters
  • Learn about Fonts and Words words words
  • Acquire tricks and tips for layout
  • Master timing and triaging material

What do you need to bring besides your awesome self?
  • Sketchbook [preferably 8x11]
  • Pencils [mechanical suggested, but not required]
  • Eraser [white gum]
