What You’ll Learn

Get 5k views in 72 hours. Make your independent learning plan. Explain the Internet. Write a super funny 500-word essay or short story. Design and market your own sneaker concept.

From sneakerhead to digital strategist, creative folks have been teaching their skills through learn-by-doing projects on Skillshare. Fun, creative, open-ended student assignments that produce something tangible or of real-world value are the key to the kind of learning that fits today’s world.

Now it’s your turn!

In this one-week class, I'll teach you how to create your own class. Why take this class and ultimately create your own? Whether you're building your brand, want to meet people who share your passion, or are looking to make extra cash, teaching is for you (anyone can do it on Skillshare!).

I've taught over 1,500 people how to teach on Skillshare and have taught numerous classes myself, so I've got some experience :) Just imagine: hundreds of students building and sharing all sorts of cool stuff as a result of your guidance/ mentorship!

You'll start by identifying the skill or knowledge you want to share, and you'll dream up a project your students can do to apply that skill. Once you've done that, you'll get advice on how to craft a compelling class description and teacher bio, and you'll actually list your class!

The following topics - which are the building blocks of a successful Skillshare class - will be covered, as you actively identify the creative skill you have to teach and prepare for putting it out in the world for others to learn:

  • Brainstorming a project that will help students apply your skills
  • Creating a compelling class description and teacher bio

By the time the class is over, you'll have completed your local class listing or applied to teach an online class.

Let’s get creative! You’ll learn these skills by working collaboratively to give each other feedback, suggestions and high-fives throughout class - in the online Classroom and in offline, local workshops.

AWARD: One student from the class will get 1-on-1 curriculum building time with Danya!
