Basic Mandarin for Foodies

Students 4/25

About this Class

In this fun crash course, we'll tackle the most important language skills you'll need to enjoy a great Chinese meal. After conquering the four tones of speech, you'll learn basic conversational skills in Mandarin that will allow you to order food like an insider at a Chinese restaurant, or ask for what you're looking for in a market. You'll also learn words for all the food groups and favorite dishes that you can never remember the proper name or pronunciation of enough to get across to your server. Finally, we'll share the best places in NYC to scope out certain cuisines of China and open up the dialogue to any questions from the instructor, a life-long avid eater of Chinese cuisine and half-Chinese foodie herself.
