BUILD: Your Lean MVP with Ruby on Rails

You have an idea that will change the world. Since you are a smart person, you’ve talked to potential customers and proven demand. Now what?

Do you waste the next few months hunting the mythical technical co-founder? Spend thousands on offshore developers? How is that lean?

You have one goal and one goal only: Get a minimally functional version in front of your customers ASAP!

This class will help you get started doing just that. Using the modern web development framework Ruby on Rails, we will teach you everything you need to get started building your MVP from scratch. We will work through getting a simple blog webapp up and running. If there is interest there will be additional classes TBD.

REQUIREMENTS:

Signup for a free hosting account on Heroku.
Run through the Rails for Zombies tutorial prior to the class.
Bring a modern working laptop

NOTE:No technical knowledge is expected above and beyond basic computer proficiency. It will be much easier to get started if you use Mac or Linux. If you have a Windows machine, please download and install the dead-simple RailsInstaller.
