About this Class
So you’ve got a passport and know how to use it. You've done the traditional hotel circuit and want to try something new. From Couchsurfing to Airbnb to Twitter, we’ll teach you how to score alternative lodging on your next trip. Whether you're looking for a place that makes you feel like a local, saves you a few bucks or gives you something to brag about on Facebook, we'll help you find an accommodation that's just right for you.
Don’t worry about grumbling stomachs, we’ll be providing tasty snacks and beverages. And remember to bring your notebook or iPad to jot down ideas and inspiration.
This class will be co-taught by Alisha Miranda and Joy Andrada.
Alisha is a certified Travel Geek. Having worked alongside numerous travel communities in recent years, she's since become a solo female traveler with a passion for sharing her experiences with others and inspiring young people to do the same. You can find her sharing tidbits on her Tumblr blog, Twitter feed, and Not For Tourists reviews.

Joy loves hatching up NYC-escape plans. She’s been traveling the world since diaperdom and still gets butterflies when she sets off in a plane. Her favorite unconventional stays include couchsurfing in posh digs in Thailand and sleeping in nipa huts in the Philippines. When she's homebound she works in digital advertising and experiences the city by bike.
