Finally, a class where you're actually supposed to be staring at your phone. Learn to edit like a pro on the go. We'll explore a variety of post processing techniques using some of the best photo editing apps available on iPhone. Learn to use color curves, corrective masking, noise reduction, custom textures & layer effects to create your own homegrown filters.
We'll start indoors to go over the techniques, then head outside to apply them to your own photos.
Bring your favorite apps pre-installed. I highly recommend Photoforge2 ($2.99 on iTunes). This app is the best i've seen & will be the focus of most of the discussion. It even works on iPad.
(Note: Although recent Android phones have great cameras, I haven't been able to find advanced, photoshop-like apps for them to be useful for this class.)
Some basic familiarity with Photoshop or various mobile photo-editing applications will be helpful. We'll be saying things like "Overlay," "Soft Light," and "Vignette."
Cole Rise has spent the better half of his life behind the lens, stalking cows & exploring the country to capture the landscape. You may have seen his work in a few magazines, art blogs, CD covers and the like. In his spare time, he designed the icon & continues to make filters for Instagram. He currently runs an internet start-up between Los Angeles & San Francisco, CA.
