About this Class
Application Programming Interfaces (API) are actually simple ways to access large amounts of data for your business or project. Companies make their data available to you for free, but you need to know how to use their APIs to access this data. This course will walk through how to use API’s from companies like Flickr and Google Maps APIs in order to query photos or places and location data. Doug will include a basic introduction to APIs and give students a sense for the opportunities out there to use APIs in easy and productive ways.
Some of New York’s hottest startups are using APIs to launch fun and creative products. Come learn from an experienced engineer, and turn yourself into an API machine.
Note: I will commit to teaching this class if it gets over 15 watchers. I'll charge $10 and all proceeds from this course will be donated to HackNY (http://hackny.org).
