Photoshop is one of the most important tools at an artist’s disposal.  It is also a very complicated piece of software with dozens of features that are hidden to all but the most advanced user.  It is also a true sandbox with a dozen ways to accomplish any given task.  As an Adobe Design Award winner in digital imaging, and someone who has been using Photoshop since 1994, I have developed a number of very effective techniques for getting the most out of my photographic imagery.

This class will go over techniques to enhance one’s photos for a variety of uses such as: 

Source Imagery – Working from a photograph can be frustrating because we often start with poor quality imagery found on the web, or because we are not the best photographer.  I will demonstrate how to squeeze the most detail out of your images so that working from the photo is as easy as possible.

Presentation—Have you ever noticed that some peoples work always looks better in a photo than in real life?  Let me show you why that is, and how you can improve the presentation of your work online, in print, or when projected.  Also, I will try to explain some of the basics of formatting your digital photography and what terms such like “DPI” mean and why it’s stupid that they mention it at all for online submissions.

General Use—Okay, who doesn’t want to their facebook profile pic to look better?  I’ll show you some less specialized tips to just make your pictures look their best. 


This will be a fun and very valuable class for anyone looking to learn Photoshop a little more, but essential to anyone that depends on the photograph for the creation of their artwork.  All this, and you’ll look better on Facebook.
